Abstract

Genesis DB is an innovative event-sourcing database engine designed to align with GDPR requirements, emphasizing the importance of capturing the evolution of data rather than merely its current state. Unlike traditional databases that focus solely on storing present data, Genesis DB chronicles the entire lifecycle of data through events, changes, and decisions, effectively creating a comprehensive narrative of a system's history. This approach ensures that every event is immutable, transparent, and verifiable, providing a true timeline from inception to the current state. Developed with practical applications in mind, Genesis DB aims to simplify and streamline event sourcing, making it more intuitive and reflective of real-world system evolution. The findings suggest that by prioritizing the historical context of data, Genesis DB not only enhances data integrity and compliance but also offers a more meaningful interaction with data management, ultimately allowing systems to tell their unique stories.
